East Austin Farm Tour

Spend a Sunday touring the urban farms lining the edge of East Austin. Meet the farmers, learn what they grow and why they grow it, and meet their various chickens, ducks, goats, bunnies, and other farm animals along the way. Then spend some time at local restaurants whose chefs source from these very farms. There really is no better way to celebrate the very heart of local in Austin.

All proceeds from the event support the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance, a national organization that supports independent family farmers and protects a healthy and productive food supply for American consumers.

Austin Restaurant Week LogoThis Spring’s Austin Restaurant Week returns April 7-10 and April 14-17, once again benefitting local non-profit Meals on Wheels and More (MOWAM). Try new restaurants and revisit old favorites at a great value, all while giving back to a great cause. Look for lunches priced at $12 to $17 and dinners at $27 or $37. Brunch will also be available at select locations for $17. Your meals will be so affordable you can try a handful of places and really soak up the goodness that is the Austin dining scene.

Tip: Open Table will also make an additional donation for every reservation made through the Austin Restaurant Week website or using the Austin Restaurant Week mobile app so plan ahead and do even more good.

The list of participating restaurants is still being finalized but so far local favorites like olive & june, TRIO, TRACE, and Swift’s Attic are all set to join the event.
